Common questions & troubleshooting
How do I convert YouTube to MP4?
Paste the public video’s Share link and select Get video. The service returns its available MP4 file; once the file header is readable, you can open the download from the result.
Can I choose 720p, 1080p, or 4K?
The current service returns an automatic MP4 output and does not expose a reliable resolution selector. YTCatch therefore offers Source quality rather than promising a specific resolution.
Does the MP4 include sound?
The intended output is a video file with audio. Source content, codecs, and the service can affect playback. If a file is silent, test it in a compatible player and check that the original contains sound.
Why is the file size not shown?
Some download servers stream a file without reporting its total size. YTCatch shows a size only when the server provides one; your browser may show the size as it downloads.
Why will my device not play the MP4?
MP4 is a container, and different files can use different video and audio codecs. A device may support MP4 but not a codec inside that file. Try a current compatible media player.
Is there a maximum video length?
A reliable maximum has not been established for the current service. Longer videos can take more time or fail. If a request times out, wait before retrying or try a shorter public video.
Can I make the video smaller here?
This version does not include trimming or recompression. For a smaller audio-only file, choose the audio downloader.
Do I need an account?
No YTCatch account is needed. Paste a public YouTube video link to get started.
Does YTCatch cost anything?
There is no charge in this interface. Downloads share a limited service allowance, so availability is not unlimited. When the allowance is used, requests are paused until it resets.
Which YouTube links can I use?
Standard youtube.com/watch links, youtu.be Share links, and individual Shorts links are accepted. A link must identify one video.
Can I download a playlist?
This tool processes one video at a time. Open a video within the playlist and copy that video’s Share link.
Can I download private videos?
No. Videos requiring an account, membership, age verification, or other restricted access are not supported.
Can I save a live stream?
Wait for the live stream to finish and for the public recording to become available. Ongoing streams are not supported.
Why did preparation fail?
The source can be unavailable, restricted, or temporarily inaccessible to the conversion service. Check that the video is public. You can try a different video or come back later.
Why is there a waiting message?
The service has to retrieve and prepare the media, then YTCatch checks the file response. Longer videos or a busy service can take longer. There is no need to submit the same link repeatedly.
What does “allowance reached” mean?
The conversion service has a limited monthly allowance. Once the site reaches its allowance, it stops creating new conversions. It is not a problem with your video link.
Where does the downloaded file go?
Your browser controls the save location, often Downloads or the Files app. Check the browser’s download list if you cannot find it.
Why did the file open in a new tab?
Some browsers play supported media instead of immediately saving it. Use the player’s menu, browser Save option, or long-press the media to save it.
Can I use a phone or tablet?
Yes. The interface works in a modern mobile browser. File saving and playback depend on your browser, device, and media format.
Do I need an extension or an app?
No extension or installer is required. If a separate page asks you to install software, you do not need it to use this interface.
Why does the Paste button not work?
Your browser may block clipboard access. Click the link field and use the device’s normal Paste action, or Ctrl+V / Command+V.
Does YTCatch keep my download history?
This version has no account or personal download library. Submitted video links go to a third-party conversion service; see the Privacy page for the current data flow.
How do I save a file on an iPhone or iPad?
Prepare a file, then tap its download button. If Safari opens a player, use the available Share or Save to Files option. Check the Files app or Safari’s download list; available controls vary by iOS version and file format.
How do I find my download on Android?
After opening the prepared file, use the browser’s Download or Save option if prompted. Look in the browser’s Downloads list or the Downloads folder in your Files app.
Why did a download link stop working?
Prepared links can expire or become unavailable. Return to the downloader and prepare the original YouTube link again. Repeated attempts still use the shared service allowance.

Use the tool for your own content or material you are authorized to download, and follow the applicable service terms. Availability of a link does not establish permission.
